5So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, "Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with 'unclean' hands?"
6He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
" 'These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
7They worship me in vain;
their teachings are but rules taught by men.'8You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men."

5The Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, "Why do Your disciples not walk according to the (A)tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with (B)impure hands?" 6And He said to them, "Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:'(C)THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS,BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.7'(D)BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.' 8"Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the (E)tradition of men." (Mark 7:5-8- NASB)
As mentioned yesterday, I think we can easily act holy and perform all the acts of holy worship without TRULY worshipping God. We should pray that don't let go of the commands of God and don't hold on to the traditions of men. It says in 2 Corinthians 3:3 that the word of God was "written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." As said, we should really believe in the power and love of the Spirit of living God. Further, His word was not written on stone (like the 10 commandments), but it was written in OUR HEARTS. Hence, we should have more confidence and faith in our Lord. I pray that God redirects my heart toward Him if it's not there where it belongs to.
