The Book of Mark
Chapter 1 (NIV)
35Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 36Simon and his companions went to look for him, 37and when they found him, they exclaimed: "Everyone is looking for you!"

I want to be like Jesus and take time to talk to God every day. I had such a sweet time all of last week doing QT and talking to God. Too often thoughts and anxieties resonate within without me reading the Word and talking to God. I kinda enjoy thinking things out and reflecting on life. While such are necessary, I learn from today's text that I need to supplement with prayer and reading of the Word. I pray that I will be a person who is connected to God.
YES! This was one of the verse that I was reminded of recently. Again, even Jesus, Son of God himself went to pray to start the day. Who am I to underestimate the power of morning prayer? I should follow his examples more and more and I pray that God will continue to guide me through.
In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.Simon and his companions searched for Him; they found Him, and said to Him, "Everyone is looking for You." (Mark 1:35-37)
i believe getting up early and to start the day praying to God and meditating on His word is the best routine and training for all of Christians.By doing so, we can pray that His Lordship be re-established in our lives and that we live as His people, as we start a new day. i sort of see this every day prayer routine as a chance for us to make new committments and promises to God, not only praying for His guidance and security in our lives. In the latter part of this passage, Simon and his companions fiund Jesus, and say to Him, "Everyone is looking for You...." In this scenerio, the people who look for Him are those that need Jesus to fill their lives with needed necesseties and healings etc. How about us? What is our motive and purpose to get to know Jesus more? Do I really treasure and long for a intimate relationship with my father in heaven?
Wow, Won Min's question really struck me. I agree with everyone that I should also get in the habit of morning prayer. Why don't I and when do I pray? Is it only when I need something or is it really to build an intimate relationship with God? I have to confess that mostly it is still the former. I am afraid that I am still like those people clamoring to see Jesus in these verses - I am going to him to get something for myself. My primary focus is on myself rather than him. I am using him as a means to serve me rather than the other way around. What a contrast to Jesus' morning prayers and meditations.
