Genesis 8:1-5 (NIV)

1 But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. 5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

I wonder if the rain would have continued to fall on the earth if God had not remembered Noah and the animals in the ark. However, we can see how faithful and loyal God is toward Noah, who had believed Him and carried out His words... I found out that Mt. Ararat is 5,137 metres/ 16,854 ft high and is located in present day Turkey, though it was traditionally part of Armenian territory. It's interesting to find out that the ark was lifted up so high by the rainfall. I wonder how scary and helpless Noah and his family must have been, locked in a wooden ark that was jus drifting in the flood for nearly a half year while it was raining outside. Despite their this condition, Noah and his family must have been patient until the end. I also pray for the same endurance and perseverance in my daily life. Further, I wish to commune more with Christ here in Korea. It's very tough to keep up a passionate prayer life here. Please pray for me.

Gosh, I can't imagine what it would have been liked to be in that ark for 150days under endless rain. God's word is his creation and becomes the law of the universe. As He promised, Noah and his family was in God's protection.

We'll continue to pray for you EBSFellow! Take care
