Mark 10:13-16

13People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." 16And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

(A)And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. 14But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; (B)for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15"Truly I say to you, (C)whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all." 16And He (D)took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them. (Mark 10:13-16)

It's interesting to see how Jesus says that "anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it..." Thinking of little children, we could say that they have pure minds and just try to absorb and take in everything without much complicated reasoning and arguing (for example, fairy tales etc.). At times, I think we calculate and think too much about the cost and consequences of our discipleship, since it could be time & energy consuming etc....God, please restore our minds and hearts, so that we have a pure heart to accept your word and teachings.

I also think that children love unconditionally. They are so eager to please, to be of service, to help. They love purely. They give freely, without hidden agendas. They don't bargain with love. I think that adults sometimes have a tit for tat mentality. I'll do this for you if you do that for me. I think that adults often try to bargain with God. I'll love you if you do this for me. If you do this for me, I promise that I'll be good. If, if, if. Children don't use "if" before giving and receiving love.
