5Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." 6(He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.) 7Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!" 8Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus.

5 Peter said to Jesus, "(E)Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; (F)let us make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah." 6For he did not know what to answer; for they became terrified. 7Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and ( G)a voice came out of the cloud, "( H)This is My beloved Son, listen to Him!" 8All at once they looked around and saw no one with them anymore, except Jesus alone. 9( I)As they were coming down from the mountain, He ( J)gave them orders not to relate to anyone what they had seen, until the Son of Man rose from the dead.(Mark 9:5-9 – NASB)
Again, it's surprising to see how the disciples become terrified. By now, they have seen so many wonders and miracles by Jesus, such as the healing of sick & asleep (dead) people, feeding multitudes of people, calming the storm etc. Each time a miracle happens, the disciples are speechless and talk among themselves because they are overwhelmed at the work of Jesus' hands. In verse 7, God again confirms to them that Christ is His beloved son and tell the disciples to listen to Him…. It's obvious that most of the things that Jesus tells them just remain a mystery to them, which they just don't comprehend ( e.g. the son of man must rise from the dead etc….). I wonder where my faith level is at this time. It's clear that though God shows me His mercy and love all the time, my faith and eyes are so shut down so that I can't really feel Him. Instead, I complain for more and more……God, open my eyes and heart and help to me to feel your love and presence in my every day life…amen..
