Sorry I was so late posting this morning. I got caught up with business. Yikes, how easy it is to get sidetracked by the here and now - forgetting that I will "dwell in the house of the LORD forever." Reminds me of something my sister once said. She was listening to a sermon about dwelling in God's house forever, and she prayed that if she could just be a flower pot in His House, she would be overjoyed. I laughed but I also recognized that her sentiment was absolutely true and sincerely. Unfortunately, since then her passion for God has cooled. It's like we talked about in bible study - how love/passion burns so hot at first but will then cool if not tended to regularly. How easily we are distracted so that we take Love for granted - until we no longer value it at all. And that which was once All Important becomes Unimportant and not even missed.

To me this reads: "Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life" by walking together with God. I will dwell and also hope in the house of the LORD forever. This dwelling part for me is like hope also.

It is so easy for us to be distracted away from the true goodness... I have been struggling lately with focusing on what truly matters. Today, I took the initiative to get back in tune with God and sustain/grow the relationship. I have to constantly remember that I am in the battlefield fighting my way through the various trials and temptations. And most importantly that I am not alone... for He is with me.

So much of our society and world is driven by the notion that "the ends justify the means" -- that we are justified in doing whatever is necessary to attain a desired goal or outcome. It is predicated on the assumption that we know what is "best" and what is "right" for ourselves and our situations. And it is usually just an expedient way to circumvent inconvenient rules and principles. But when we take a different approach to life like "the means sanctify the ends" approach, we trust that if we do what is right then not only will our desired results (like goodness and love) follow but they will also be the best results we could imagine having.

With every passing year, I see my life as getting more complicated, more stressful, and more burdensome. I look at younger folks around me, especially kids, and think about how good it was when I was younger and life was more simple. What a privilege we have to be able to live NOW and FOREVER as WORRY-FREE children (= sheep) in the house of our Father (= Shepherd).

Surely, goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,And I will [c](Q)dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Looking at this verse, I will have to re-think about the meaning of goodness and lovingkindness in this context. I believe it means more like that God's peace and comfort (through the Holy Spirit) will be with us and protect us as we struggle with sins and hardships in this life. A famous Christian author once mentioned that life is hardship and temporary. As long as we are here on this earth, there will be difficult moments. Fortunately, however, we will have a mediator (Holy Spirit) who will protect us and guide us through difficult moments and show us and teach us goodness and lovingkindness.

Amen my brothers&sisters: I have always believed that as Christians we are meant to suffer on this earth but are assurance is the end game which is to be sitted with our God in heaven,
