Genesis 21:1-7 (NIV)
1 Now the LORD was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what he had promised. 2 Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. 3 Abraham gave the name Isaac [a] to the son Sarah bore him. 4 When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God commanded him. 5 Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. 6 Sarah said, "God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me." 7 And she added, "Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age."

We can see the grace and mercy of God shining on Abraham & Sarah. Though they were in disbelief about their future child initially, God does not have any grudge against them. Rather, He carries out His promise and blessing toward them. I just feel that God really loves and cares for Abraham and His family throughout. It's incredible also to see how Abraham becomes a father at age 100!
Funny how Isaac means "he laughs"
I still can't grasp that Sarah can pass as an attractive unmarried woman at age of 90+. Knowing that how could she not have trusted God's promise earlier? It seems she definitely had the phyiscal condition? to have a child.
Giving birth to a son at that age is remarkable but because God already said He will do this, I'm not that amazed since when He says He will, it will be done no matter what.
Michael, I think the previous events where Sarah was passed as Abraham's sister happened years before. Besides, people lived longer back then. Maybe 90 back then was like 40 today. LOL. Michelle Pfeiffer is in her 50s and still looks gorgeous.
I love that Sarah says that God brought her laughter. God is the source of Joy. I think Heaven is full of laughter.
Nope, the most recent event that Sarah was passed as Abraham's sister was the King Abimelech's story, which happened after Sarah was 90 years of age. Unless the sequence is all messed up.
Abraham lived to 175 and Sarah died around 127 so perhaps she 90 is really 60~70 but thats still!!!
