7 Then he ran to the herd and selected a choice, tender calf and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it. 8 He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree.
9 "Where is your wife Sarah?" they asked him. "There, in the tent," he said. 10 Then the LORD [c] said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son." Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. 11 Abraham and Sarah were already old and well advanced in years, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. 12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master [d] is old, will I now have this pleasure?"

It appears to be like a form of worship how Abraham selects the best choice of tender calf and serves it as a meal for the three visitors (the LORD in the form of three angels). This scene is a little similar to Abel's who also gave the best choice of his calf to the Lord for worship....Sarah's laugh in disbelief is not surprising, since it's genetically hardly possible for her to bear a child at this age. But at the same time, we can see that she ultimately does not have the faith in the Lord Almighty, the Creator of Heavens and Earth. I think we can easily criticize and point out to those who fail in their test of faith. However, I believe we are all fragile people with weaknesses who would respond similarly to Sarah. I pray that I will God will strengthen my heart and faith.
Interesting how God came as three this time. Perhaps this is a glimpse of the Father, Son, and the Spirit?
I do understand Sarah's reaction however our age or physical condition nor anything can stand against God's power and the joy that He brings to us.
Do I offer my best to God? Does it have to take God to be physically be with me in order for me bring out the best? Isn't God always with us?
Oh how I hide my best from Him when He is here with me...
