Luke 2:27-32 (NIV)

27Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, 28Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: 29"Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss[d] your servant in peace. 30For my eyes have seen your salvation, 31which you have prepared in the sight of all people, 32a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel."

I wonder how surprised and uncomfortale the child Jesus must have been to see a stranger taking him by arms and praising God....But we can see how truly transformed Simeon is now, as the Holy Spirit was upon him and He moved him. He seems to be overwhelmed and thankful for his salvation and the glory that he has witnessed..... This is how we born-again Christians have to respond to God's mercy in our every day life. There are times when we forget to appreciate the cross in our lives. The sweetness and passion of salvation could just last temporarily and we could easily lose our thankful hearts toward Him many times. I pray that we all can seek Him every moment with a thankful heart.
